About the Author

Jesse S. Gines is a motivational speaker, author, entrepreneur and, jail/prison chaplain whose life story reflects the journey from pain to purpose. Born in Valley Stream, New York, Jesse’s childhood was shaped by instability—parents who separated early, a father working in one of America’s toughest prisons, and a mother whose struggles pulled the family into seasons of poverty, addiction, and homelessness.
From Brooklyn’s streets to the housing projects of Puerto Rico, Jesse faced gang violence, drug addiction, and the sting of incarceration at an early age. Yet through every trial, he discovered resilience, faith, and identity. What was meant to break him became the training ground that shaped his calling.
Today, Jesse uses those experiences to inspire audiences with a clear message: your beginning doesn’t disqualify you—it prepares you. Through his ministry, books, real estate investment ststegies, and speaking engagements, he challenges people to live with “no excuses,” lean into God’s purpose, and transform their struggles into strength.
When he’s not on stage or writing, Jesse is dedicated to his family, fitness, and building a legacy that helps others overcome their painful past. His life stands as proof that no matter how cracked the foundation, God can transform victims into victors.
